“It’s dangerous for the person operating it and also to the general public specially to unsuspecting people like children who may get electrocuted if they come in contact. The general view of the public is that they have spruced up many things but this switch board remains an ugly sight which may not be a pleasing to the visiting dignitaries,” said Benaulim residents.
“Every time the people requested the Electricity Department for the last few years they were given to understand that there is paucity of funds. The overhead transmission wires have been sagging all these years and were not getting repaired for similar reasons. Come BRICS and all that fell in place. The people are asking whether the authorities work only for foreign dignitaries and not for its own people”, added Rudolf Barreto from Benaulim
