As the dust rises and the roar of the engines only grows
louder in Vagator, one need only look a little closer to see the best possible
melee that will unfold. Over 10,000 riders and bike enthusiasts are expected to
ride cross-country to Goa to celebrate the spirit and lifestyle of the Indian
biking community. India Bike Week (IBW) has gone on to engage the country’s
biking fraternity over the last six months, with a season of activities that
includes the likes of ‘Chai and Pakoda Rides’, the India Bike Week Tour and DIY
sessions. However, the pièce de résistance is the culmination of it all, with
one massive get-together in Goa.
Martin da Costa, the CEO of 70 EMG detailed the entire IBW
experience in very few words, saying, “India Bike Week 2015 is about creating
stories. It is not about brands and models. Anyone who wishes to be a rider,
anyone with a love for bikes and anyone with a love of the road, is welcome.
The Indian biking brotherhood is just getting bigger in 2015.”
However, there is far more to this event than meets the eye.
While the primary focus may be on biking, the IBW is also about entertainment.
For those looking to get their fix of all things extreme, this festival is
completely off the hook.
“Asia’s biggest motorcycle party is back. India Bike Week
brings to life various elements close to a biker’s heart. From rock concerts to
a custom bike build off, a stunt arena, and the showcasing of the most amazing
motorcycles from across the world including vintage bikes, there is no end to
the attractions on display. In the last two years, IBW has inspired a new
generation of bikers and we are thrice as thrilled about 2015, as we expect to
create an aura around the event that will make it a destination hard to be missed,”
says Keertan Adyanthaya, the MD of FOX International Channels.
Adding to Keertan’s words, Tanush Joseph, the Director of
Sales and Marketing of 70 EMG, talks about more of the event’s highlights,
saying, “India Bike Week in 2013 and 2014 broke all records for a festival in
its first two years. We are really excited about the third edition of India
Bike Week and there are definitely bigger and better things to look forward to
in 2015. 10,000 bikers are expected to ride in from different parts of the
country. Five stages and 20 musical acts headlined by Babyhead, Drag Race, Ace
Café London will be on display. Exciting bike launches, the national stunt
championship, the ride for charity and other attractions will only add to the
excitement. India Bike Week will always be the place to be for hard core
bikers, fans of the two wheeler ‘way of living’, travellers and India’s many
music and festival fans.”
So whether for the bikes or just an all-round good time, IBW
is one event you certainly don’t want to miss.
