India’s 14-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will not appear for the CBSE Class 10 board examinations this year as he prioritises his rapidly growing cricket career. The young batter, who rose to global prominence with his performances at the Under-19 World Cup, is currently occupied with training camps, domestic tournaments, and franchise commitments that leave little time for academic preparation.
According to family members, his exam form had already been submitted, the admit card issued, and the examination centre finalised. However, after discussions between the school authorities and his father, the decision was made to allow him to skip the exams and appear next year instead. Continuous travel schedules and competitive fixtures had significantly limited his study time.

The teenager has already created several milestones, including a stunning 175-run knock in the Under-19 World Cup final and becoming one of the youngest players to register a List-A century. Despite the growing hype, international cricket remains a future step as the minimum age requirement set by the International Cricket Council and the participation guidelines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India currently restrict his immediate eligibility.
