The bird hit incident of Air India flight at Dabolim Airport makes one feel insecure and scared about airlines flying from Goa’s lone airport. Although this mishap was fortunately not fatal, it raises serious questions about the safety of the airport. It may be noted that such incidents have taken place in the past as well.
If the garbage strewn around the airport is responsible in attracting birds, the mess should be cleared off on a priority basis. This also shows how the garbage menace of the State has remained unsolved, even though our legislators went on a foreign trip under the garb of studying the garbage situation abroad.
