The North Korean isolation, leading to an initial nuclear spark attack could engulf the world in the jaws of a larger conflagration that will set off a chain reaction of nuclear attacks that could lead to Armageddon. Nobody wants a nuclear winter shrouding the earth with nuclear radiation that will lead to ceaseless suffering to mankind. US, China and Russia could react to a tip off by North Korea that could spell the doom after years of hard work that came at the end of the World War II, making the world a better place to live in. Containing North Korea by tactful diplomacy rather than confrontation could save mankind from another global war that is certain to use nuclear and thermonuclear warfare that will spell apocalypse. Instead of belligerence, the US has to tone down its rhetoric and instead of resorting to apocalyptic language, that may trigger a preventable nuclear strike by North Korea, an explosive situation made still more dangerous by the spate of crippling sanctions that has turned the proletariat in the reclusive nation to the point of starvation.
The dropping of nuclear bombs by the US in Hiroshima and Nagasaki that signaled the end of World War II demonstrated the power of weapons of mass destruction and was a warning about the radiation tragedy that affected people of Japan. There should not be a repetition of the same dimension again, despite frayed tempers by the superpowers who do not want to be driven into submission. 200,000 people perished in these two devastating blows to Japan. Japan also had the nightmare of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Fukushima on March 11, 2011, resulting in the meltdown of a nuclear reactor that by in itself claimed 3000 lives. The tsunami totally claimed about 20.000 lives and exposed the exceedingly high vulnerability of a nation which was best prepared in the world to deal with disasters.
These two incidents was a clear and present warning of the consequences of nuclear and thermonuclear attacks that could lead to apocalyptic damage that the world will find very difficult to extricate from. Should nature’s wrath be wreaked simultaneously large-scale destruction of lives could lead to extermination of close to 2/3rd of the human race as predicted by Nostradamus in the event of a Third World War.
The ratcheting of venomous rhetoric has to cease and confabulations have to begin to narrow down and then eradicate conflict turning the world into a battleground where missiles and bombs would destroy all that humanity has built with so much of diligence. In the present atmosphere of distrust, the world leaders have to come together to prevent the annihilation of mankind which seems to be definitely possible if the volley of belligerence is replaced with accountability for the destiny of mankind which rests in the hands of those who take decisions at the highest levels. Let doom and destruction not be self-inflicted but let better sense prevail. Megalomaniac tendencies by the leaders of nuclear armed countries have to be curbed.
