The Louis Berger bribery scam has come as a gift for the ruling Laxmikant Parsekar led BJP government to silence the opposition Congress leaders and also to rejuvenate the sagging political image of its own party in Goa.
In fact, the BJP government is currently seen trying all its dirty tricks to somehow trap mainly leaders like Churchill Alemao and Digambar Kamat just to gain some political mileage to hide their own misdeeds. I am not trying to defend or give a clean chit to Alemao and Kamat who are accused in this case but my question to the Parsekar government is that if it has so much sincerity in getting to the bottom of the case to nab the real culprits then did it decide to hand over the case to the Crime Branch instead of to CBI?
I think that this itself clearly show that the BJP government is more interested not in nailing or punishing the real culprits but in playing its own vindictive politics by selectively harassing only a few opposition leaders till the next Assembly elections distracting/entertaining Goans playing this ‘tu-tu-main-main’ natak. Why, are the ministers and leaders of the ruling BJP government less corrupt and 100% holy in Goa?
I feel that though the ongoing political tamasha might go on for some more days or months, if not years, in the end, nothing will come out of it as finally all the accused will walk free. Who knows, after going through the ongoing pain and agony, Alemao and Kamat might finally join the BJP to become purely holy just like some others who have already got a clean chitfrom the BJP after deciding to flirt with the BJP permanently in Goa.
Yes, this is Goan politics and one never gives any guarantee of our politicians in Goa because finally they are all opportunists with no principles.
