The moment any SSC student hears of a public exam one studies hard to pass in flying colors. Good results assure good career opportunities. Every student is not able to score high marks and some score low. Students at these moments need to learn to accept themselves and their current achievement. With the dwindling result release dates of SSC exam 2015, the SSC students were not sure when the result will be announced. Now that the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will announce the result on May 23 at 6 p.m. the students are invoking their muse consistently, to be their support, just like all of us did once upon a time.
The social scientists have proved that adolescents between ages of 10-19 suffer from symptomatic pressure. SSC students have taken wrong decisions after the announcements of their results more so because of peer and academic pressures. Students undergo depression, emotional turmoil, and frustration. Thus, it is a dire need that every parent during these moments of emotional disaster be available to their children, assisting them, being their consolation. The results will definitely define better prospects in the future, but what has already happened cannot be altered at any cost. Therefore the parents should be their guidance during these times. We have had cases where children have attempted self-immolation and most of the times become victims of alcoholism, violence and crime. To avoid such and many more circumstances the parents, relatives, teachers, and friends should always stand by the SSC students.
This will help in not only making them understand and accept themselves, but also make them feel secure. At times because of poor results of one’s child, a parent gets upset and reprimands one’s child. But then if you really think about it, will your reproach at this moment help the child and you? Never, rather the situation will turn worse and unpleasant.
The students must be open and receptive to accept whatsoever is the result, even if their parents pressurize them, they need to be mature deciding about their future career and taking up a firm decision not influenced by friends. It is not always easy to accept one’s downfall but it is not difficult too. Everyone of us is bound to falter and nothing is certain on the course of our lives. So, why make fuss of what is not within our reach? Parents should be beside their beloved children, always as their supporting pillars.
