Being affiliated to hunk of populace who eyes for special and superior conduct with withhold of fraction for unsuitably suitable candidates, the concept of reservation is engraved within my intellect from commencement of my safari as a human. Glee over preserved seats is not uncommon which carries pride along with it showed off by individuals of the nation over status gained by hard work and sweat.
Transit through the harshest sail with victory at the following end our country has experienced it all. Battling the odds and evens we have managed to free ourselves from the clutches of outsiders with freedom of more than 6 decades now but unfortunately we have failed to free ourselves from the string of reservation which is major limiting factor in our life. In fact we consider preserved seats boon and pride for our community.
Citizens of 21st century eye on gateway laid through seats of quota over achieving the desired position on the basis of possessed valor and might. Unfortunately our worship towards reserved quota is so high that we fall prey at the hands of political parties who woo us by hitting on our weakness. We get impressed with their generous contributions to our community and respectful towards them for prioritising us over other caste.
How fair are we? Why do we need a clutch to hold on to rise in life? We fail to judge the intentions of the political parties who snatch our votes through speeches, which sound soothing to ears. But does it do more good and less harm? Isn’t it unfair towards outstanding populace who is left out of the privilege? But we humans are so self centered and looks towards what works in our favour as against that of others.
If fastest growing economy eyes on development and growth on the basis of preserving seats for the favoured masses, I wonder which direction we are heading towards. The pace at which new bills are passed by the parliament to satisfy section of population can prove to be harmful and threatening in long run.
But has one really given thought to the populace who is left out for no concrete basis? The concept of pleasing people of a particular community irrespective of their standing in the society is snatching opportunities from the deserved section. Common man is also accountable for lasting the unfair practice in order to upgrade a section of population. Growth and prosperity needs to be equivalent to the population of the country and not carried in biased manner.
Rather than handing food directly on platter which satisfies hunger temporarily why can’t we make the foundation strong enough and enable the capability of the weaker group to a degree where they are competent enough to stand at par with the rest. Why can we ensure spread of quality education for all and initiate alterations from the scratch?Knowledge imparted will serve as helping hand in long run. But the liking towards the custom of reservation seem to stay here as the populace seem to desire its elongated stay.
