Government volubly says, Bache hamare kalka bhavish hai, (children are our tomorrow’s future generation), but virtually they are killing them. Let me take you to the stinking Sonsodo where the whiff or odour which is sensed miles away from the site, inside the homes of people. Nothing is done to solve the menace of Sonsodo, mark my words very soon again the Sonsodo will be in news from 2016 and in the manifestos of many candidates fighting for assembly elections and the winner once will forget the issue of Sonsodo, but “Manovikas School”, where the future generation is studying from morning to evening, will be inhaling the stink of the garbage for another 5 years.
I would like to ask the government, the elected urban corporate’s and NGOs, is this not a slow death to the children and the people staying in the surroundings vicinities? What are the authorities doing to eliminate this death posing smell? When we pass in our cars we immediately pull up the glass, hold our nose but still the smell enters our cars, and after reaching a certain distance we immediately pull the glass down so that fresh air comes in. If we can’t bear the smell for 2 minutes, than just imagine, the children stomaching this smell throughout the day and for ten years in school.
Talking about child labour, whenever there is a public holiday like Gandhi Jayanti etc., our present government and some other institutions, under the banner of “Swach Bharat”, take the opportunity of making the children work by making them collect plastic from the road side stinking areas. What is this, is it not child labour? Some will say no we are bringing in awareness in them, how to keep their surrounding clean. By asking them to clean the road side mess? Than one day you’ll make it a compulsory subject for the school children to go and segregate the plastic from the garbage at Sonsodo. The government should be blamed for this plastic hazard and not the children and the people, for permitting the small scale industries, who are producing these plastic bags.
The government has levied Swachh tax of 0.50 paise why? Than employ only plastic collectors, and the plastic will disappear in a years’ time. Chandor, Guirdolim and many other villages have already started with plastic collection. Clear the garbage from the Sonsodo and save the future generation and the people from slow death.
