Ranya Rao purchased round trip tickets from Bengaluru to Dubai using her husband Jatin Hukkeri’s credit card, which has led to concerns regarding his possible connection to a gold smuggling case. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted searches at nine properties in Bengaluru linked to Hukkeri, who has obtained a temporary order from the Karnataka High Court preventing his arrest.

DRI officials reported that Ranya Rao stated she received calls from unfamiliar numbers directing her to smuggle gold. During her interrogation, she mentioned that she learned techniques for hiding gold by watching videos on Social media.
