An armed man was shot and killed after driving into the secured perimeter of Mar-a-Lago, the Florida resort owned by former U.S. President Donald Trump, early Sunday morning, officials confirmed.
According to the United States Secret Service, the breach occurred around 1:30 a.m. The suspect allegedly entered the restricted area while armed, prompting agents to respond with lethal force.

Trump, who frequently spends weekends at the Palm Beach property, was at the White House at the time of the incident.
Suspect Identified by FBI
The Federal Bureau of Investigation identified the man as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin from North Carolina. Authorities said his family had recently reported him missing.
Officials revealed that the suspect was carrying a shotgun and a gas can at the time of the breach. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated that Martin is believed to have purchased the shotgun while traveling south. A box for the weapon was later recovered from his vehicle.
Motive Remains Unclear
Investigators have not determined a motive behind the incident. The episode comes amid ongoing security concerns surrounding Trump, who has previously faced threats to his life, including two reported assassination attempts during the 2024 presidential campaign.
Authorities said the investigation remains active as they work to piece together the suspect’s movements and intentions leading up to the breach.
