The Assam Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested singer Zubeen Garg’s bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and co-singer Amritprava Mahanta in connection with Garg’s death, bringing the total arrests in the case to four, sources confirmed.
Both Goswami and Mahanta were reportedly present with Garg at a yacht party during the North East India Festival on September 19. The 52-year-old singer went for a swim and was later found floating face down in the water.

According to SIT sources, video footage shows Goswami swimming very close to Garg, while Mahanta recorded the incident on her cellphone. Both have been questioned over the past six days.
Earlier, Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma and North East India Festival manager Shyamkanu Mahanta were arrested on Wednesday. They are expected to be interrogated alongside Goswami and Mahanta as the investigation continues.
Authorities have said the investigation is ongoing as they seek to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
