Gurugram: 58-Year-Old Cyclist Killed After Being Hit by Speeding Car

A 58-year-old businessman died after being hit from behind by a speeding car while cycling in Gurugram’s DLF Phase 2 on Wednesday morning. Police identified the victim as Amitabh Jain, who was struck around 7:15 am. The Santro car involved in the crash fled immediately, but CCTV footage from a nearby house captured the incident.

Jain was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Following a complaint from his cousin, Kanti Jain, police registered an FIR under Sections 106, 281 and 324(2) of the BNS at the DLF Phase 2 police station.

Investigators have traced the vehicle’s registration number and located its previous owner, who recently sold the car. A manhunt is underway to identify and arrest the driver. Jain lived in Gurugram with his wife; his son resides in the UK and his daughter in Bangalore.

While the family has termed the tragedy an accident, local residents and social media users alleged it may have been intentional, pointing to the nature of the collision.
