The Immigration and Foreigners Bill 2025 is expected to be presented in the Lok Sabha today. This legislation seeks to update and unify India’s immigration regulations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will request permission to introduce a Bill that grants the Central Government specific powers to mandate passports or other travel documents for individuals entering and leaving India, as well as to oversee issues related to foreigners, such as visa requirements and registration, along with any related matters.
BJP MP and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology, Nishikant Dubey, along with fellow BJP MP Anil Baluni, is set to present the sixth report detailing the government’s actions in response to the observations and recommendations from the Committee’s Fifty-sixth Report (Seventeenth Lok Sabha) concerning the ‘Regulation of Cable Television in India,’ which pertains to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

In addition, they will introduce the seventh report on the government’s actions regarding the observations and recommendations from the Committee’s Fifty-fourth Report (Seventeenth Lok Sabha) focused on ‘Digital Payment and Online Security Measures for Data Protection,’ related to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
They will also submit statements outlining further actions taken by the government on various reports from the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology (2024-25) in the Lok Sabha. Furthermore, they will present the fifty-third report on the government’s actions concerning the observations and recommendations from the Committee’s Forty-seventh Report (Seventeenth Lok Sabha) regarding the ‘Review of the functioning of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC),’ which is associated with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
