Tragedy in Jaipur as dumper truck crashes into vehicles, 12 killed

A speeding dumper truck caused massive devastation in Jaipur’s Harmada area on Monday, killing 12 people and injuring several others in a horrific chain collision. District Collector Jitendra Soni confirmed the casualties, adding that many of the injured were in critical condition and had been admitted to the trauma centre at SMS Hospital.

According to police reports, the empty dumper came hurtling down Road No. 14 near Loha Mandi and ploughed into multiple vehicles over a stretch of nearly 300 metres. Eyewitnesses said the impact was so strong that several vehicles were crushed beyond recognition. Emergency teams rushed to the site, diverting traffic and clearing the mangled remains to restore movement on the busy highway.

This tragic incident marks the second fatal road mishap in Rajasthan within 48 hours. On Sunday, 15 people, including 10 women and four children, were killed when a tempo traveller rammed into a stationary trailer truck in Phalodi. Authorities have launched investigations into both crashes to determine whether negligence or mechanical failure was responsible.
