The White House on Monday said that US President Donald Trump continues to keep “all options on the table” in addressing the situation with Iran, including the possibility of military action, even as he maintains that diplomacy remains his preferred course of action.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, responding to questions on Iran and whether ongoing protests there could be resolved without military intervention, said President Trump believes in retaining strategic flexibility. She noted that airstrikes remain among the several options available to the Commander-in-Chief.

“One thing President Trump is very good at is always keeping all of his options on the table, and airstrikes would be one of the many options,” Leavitt said, adding that “diplomacy is always the first option for the President.”
Leavitt also revealed that while public statements from the Iranian leadership may suggest one narrative, private communications with the US administration convey a different message. She said President Trump is keen to explore these private signals as part of his diplomatic efforts.
“He told all of you that what you’re hearing publicly from the Iranian regime is quite different from the messages the administration is receiving privately, and the President has an interest in exploring those messages,” she stated.
At the same time, the Press Secretary подчеркed that President Trump has demonstrated in the past that he is not hesitant to resort to military measures if he believes it is necessary. “The President has shown he’s unafraid to use military options if and when he deems necessary, and nobody knows that better than Iran,” Leavitt said.
