Police in Muzaffarnagar have arrested a 30-year-old woman for allegedly strangling her husband to death in his sleep, accusing him of neglecting her over his first wife. The incident took place on August 29.
The accused, identified as Kavita, was arrested on Saturday after Sanjay Kumar’s father reported the crime. “Sanjay Kumar (40) was killed by his second wife Kavita,” said SHO Dinesh Chand Bhagel.

During questioning, Kavita confessed that she strangled Sanjay while he was asleep, claiming he always gave preference to his first wife, who lives in their native village of Tanda Majra.
