PANJIM, APRIL 7 (HR) – Panjim police today arrested one Schubert Pereira, 25, resident of Mapusa for allegedly producing fake documents for obtaining passport. The Passport Officer B S Rokde complained that prior to July 14, 2006, Schubert, applied for passport in his office by producing documents of Martin Vyron Teodorrio, resident of Mangur Hill, Vasco. Police said that by doing so the accused had impersonated Martin and cheated the passport authority under section 419, 468, 471 of IPC. Based on the complaint, police said, the accused was arrested and bailed out on a bond of Rs 15,000. Cases of forged documents being submitted for obtaining passport came to light recently when the Panjim police arrested two youth from South Goa on – Adolf Joel Fernandes, and Domnick Fernandes. The duo had forged their documents comprising SSCE mark-lists and school leaving certificates in 2007 to get an Emigration Clearance Not Required (ECNR) status, the police said.
