Karnataka excise officials have seized Goan liquor worth Rs 50,000 from a Fiat car at the Anmod check post.
One person has been arrested in this connection, while authorities have also seized the car.
According to excise officials, Rajan Palaniswami Shettiyar of Selam district in Tamil Nadu was allegedly carrying 243 litres of Goan liquor.
A few weeks ago, Karnataka excise officials had seized Goan liquor worth Rs 10 lakh near the Majali check post.
It is reliably learnt that the same informer had tipped off excise officials in Goa. They reportedly intercepted the vehicle at Canacona, but failed to discover the secret compartment in the vehicle.
Some days later, a special excise squad seized a car with a special compartment between the rear seat and the trunk, which was loaded with Goan liquor worth Rs 25,000.
