Panjim: Power Minister Nilesh Cabral hinted at 10 to 20 percent hike in electricity tariff once the power infrastructure in the State is upgraded. The minister was speaking at a function at Curchorem.
Underground cabling will be done throughout the State in a phased manner through joint venture or on PPP model, Cabral said. He also said that a white paper on functioning of the Power Department, with details of planning, shortcomings, and execution of various projects will be released within 45 days.
The minister also mooted a proposal for carrying out all electrical works of various government departments through the Power Department.
