Around 1,000 policemen would be on guard for the December 31 night in Goa as the beaches are getting flooded with the visitors.
Police have chalked out separate traffic arrangements for the coastal belt, which witnesses chock-a-block vehicular moment at mid night.
Police spokesman Atmaram Deshpande said that two companies of Central Industrial Security Force, India Reserve Battallion force, Quick Response Teams and police station staff have been activated.
“Besides this, there will be coastal police patrolling the beaches and also constant co-ordination with the Indian Coast Guard is also on,” Deshpande said.
