12 cattle skulls recovered from river at Valpoi

VALPOI: Valpoi police on Wednesday recovered 12 skulls and other entrails of cattle from the Velus river at Valpoi.

Speaking to Herald, Valpoi PI Sanjay Dalvi informed that they have recovered 12 skulls of cattle and other body parts, after receiving a complaint from Vishvesh Parab.
“A team of veterinary doctors conducted the inspection. Since foul smell was emanating in the area, we took special permission from the JMFC Valpoi to dispose off the body parts,” informed PI Dalvi.
PI Dalvi further informed that a tempo was captured in a CCTV camera installed in nearby farm adjacent to the Velus river at about 11 pm on Monday and police is investigating the case from all angles.
Police have registered the offence against unknown persons under Sections 277, 295(A), 429 of IPC and Section 8 of the Goa Preservation of Animal Act and Section 11 (1) (L) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act and Section 8 of the Goa Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act 1978.
