PANJIM: In a cyber attack, 16 Goa government websites were hacked on Saturday raising alarm over cyber security.
The websites of the Departments of Information and Publicity, Fisheries, Accounts, Goa Housing Board, Labour, Fire and Emergency Services, Goa Printing Press and nine websites of Industrial Training Institutes were hacked.
Expect for two departments, IT department has managed to get the websites online again.
Interestingly, the website of the Information and Publicity Department, which was down since 2007 after being hacked, was created only last year and is now down again. The Accounts Department website was also attacked in 2014 and was down for a long period of time.
Over 17 state government websites have been hacked over the last four years.
