MARGAO: Sixteen passengers were injured in a bus accident at Gudi junction late Thursday evening.
According to police, the bus GA-02-T-4457 was proceeding from Margao to Chandor. On reaching the Gudi junction at 7.30 pm, the driver lost control and the bus fell on its side.
The driver fled from the site soon after the mishap.
The injured were admitted to Hospicio, Margao.
Police provided the names of those injured as ~ Anigma Pacheco, Rosalina Menezes, Priciya Menezes, Shona Carvalho, Alvina Fernandes, Linda Oliveira, Delzia Correia, Egma Gomes, Priya Gomes, Linda Peixeto, Catarina Oliveira, Meera Rebello, Sebastina Carvalho, Rachel Gomes, Supriya and Hurbet Carvalho.
Maina Curtorim PI Sudesh Naik and Margao DySP Mohan Naik rushed to the site, while MLA Rajan Naik and Damu Naik visited the Hospicio Hospital, Margao.
