17 students suffer food poisoning

BICHOLIM: Seventeen students and a teacher from Government Primary School, Ambegal-Pali, had to be hospitalised after suffering food poisoning through their mid-day meal.

According to information, the incident occurred at around 11 am, when the 17 students consumed ‘pav bhaji’ served during the interval. After consuming the meal, they complained of uneasiness, while some started vomiting.
The students were immediately shifted to the Primary Health Centre in Dharbandora. The condition of Rupal Lamani (11) and Siddhanth Gawas (7), who were vomiting continuously, was reportedly serious. They are under observation, while the other students were discharged after preliminary treatment.
