PANJIM: A total of 17, 250 new voters were added to the State Electoral Roll, which was released by the State Election Commission, on Friday.
During the Special Summery Revision of photo electoral roll held last year, 0.79 per cent change over previous year was registered taking total eligible voters count to 11,44,987.
During the drive, 17,250 new names were added while 8,854 were deleted from the roll. The net change was 8,396.
As per the electoral roll published in 2020, the total voter count was 11,36,595.
Nearly 2,51,080 voters are between the age group of 40-49 years, while 2,23,351 are in the age group of 30-39 years and another 2,04,389 are between 50-59 years.
There are 1,99,688 voters in the age of 20-29 years and another 1,36,137 are senior citizens in the age of 60-69 years.
There are 80,630 voters between 70-79 years while 31,917 are above 80 years.
