VASCO: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes has suspended the two municipal drivers, who were allegedly caught stealing fuel from a municipal garbage compactor which was parked at the garbage dump site in Headland-Sada.
Replying to a question by Councillor Tara Kerkar during the council meeting on Tuesday regarding the status of the case, Fernandes informed that both the drivers have been placed under suspension and the order was issued the same morning.
Fernandes also informed that he has also filed an FIR against the two drivers at Vasco police station.
It may be recalled that Fernandes while producing photographs as proof on April 2 during the election meeting of vice chairperson of Mormugao Municipal Council had sought council’s approval to initiate action against the two MMC drivers.
