PANJIM: This is no fishy news! Goans can now heave a sigh of relief from exorbitant fish prices with the State government finally initiating steps to control the same by opening special outlets in major towns by October to make fish available at wholesale rates.
This will be initiated on an experimental basis in Panjim, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa, Canacona and Pernem where the government will procure the fish through agencies directly from trawler owners at wholesale rates and make it available to the common man through the six stalls.
