Collem Police attached three ore-laden trucks for illegally transporting ore through Shigao-Collem village.
According to Collem PI Sudesh Narvekar, the three trucks were transporting ore through the Sanguem-Kale-Shigao-Amona route, when they were supposed to ply along the longer Sanguem-Kale-Dharbandora-Amona route.
It may be recalled that residents of Shigao and members of Sapt Sangh Manch of Shigao have been opposing ore transportation through Shigao, which causes dust, sound and water pollution besides, damages to crops.
Collem Police attached the three trucks under Section 184 IPC and issued Challan. The trucks were later released after fine was paid by the truck owners.
