PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar promised to start a course in 3D printing at the government polytechnic from the next academic year.
Additive manufacturing or 3D printing is a process of making a three-dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model and is one of the latest frontiers of digital technology today.
Seeking to give a boost to polytechnics and the students that pass out from there, Parrikar also said he would enable those who pass out from the government polytechnic to apply for the post of Police Sub-Inspector PSI.

Also on the issue, Parrikar said that he would grant permission to start a Diploma in Education DEd course in Konkani.
In his reply, he also said he was taking forward his plans to build an educational hub in the State with one of the shortlisted locations being Khandola in Ponda taluka and the other being Polem in Canacona.
