PANJIM: Airport Authority of India (AAI) on Monday gave a written undertaking to the High Court of Bombay at Panjim that a repeat of the July 1 Amit Shah public function at the Dabolim Airport will not be allowed.
The undertaking, filed on oath by AAI Director Dabolim, Bhupesh Negi, stated that the airport authorities will ensure that in future no such occurrence takes place under any circumstances and that the airport area and its precincts are not used for any such occurrence.
Accepting the submitted by the AAI, the Court disposed the petition filed by advocate Aires Rodrigues.
Rodrigues in his petition had drawn the attention of the High Court that for first time a public meeting was organised by a political party within the high security precincts of an airport in total violation of law.
Submitting photographs of Shah’s meeting at the airport, Rodrigues in his petition had stated that BJP which organised the meeting falsely claimed that all necessary permissions to hold it were obtained while at the same time stated that the meeting was not pre-planned but spontaneous.
