VASCO: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday started its campaign in Mormugao for the South Goa Lok Sabha seat.
The corner meeting at Headland Sada started with the telecasting of the speech of party chief Arvind Kejriwal urging the voters to vote for AAP for a change in governance.
AAP member Adv T T Shreedharan urged the voters from Mormugao to vote for South Goa Lok Sabha candidate Swati Kerkar for better governance at the Centre.
“The Ammonia tank at the Jetty and the new coal handling plant are posing threat to the residents of Headland Sada,” said Adv Shreedharan.
“After fighting for almost 15 years, the High Court finally banned handling coal at berth 11. The present coal handling plant and the ammonia tank at Jetty Sada will spell doom for the residents of Sada and AAP will fight against both the issues,” stated Shreedharan.
Sameer Kerkar, an IIT professional from Bangalore, said, “Earlier, the voters didn’t have any choice and they were forced to vote for any one national party against their wish. With the formation of AAP, people now have a choice,” said Kerkar and urged the voters to vote for AAP candidate Swati Kerkar.
Swati Kerkar, South Goa AAP Lok Sabha candidate, stated that though the people of the country are librated, they are still under the rule of corrupt politicians of the country. “Freedom fighters sacrificed their lives while fighting for freedom from the clutches of the foreign rule, but little did they realise that the future of the people of the country will be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire,” she added.
