MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday demanded that fair price shops distribute grains to all people including those that do not have a ration card issued by the Civil Supplies Department of Goa and dismissed the need for undertaking a survey on coronavirus in the State.
In a statement, the AAP said there is no need to use 7000 teachers to undertake the survey and suggested that instead the government use the MLAs, councillors and panchayat members through whom provisions were distributed to the people.

“What is actually needed is a survey of food consumed by people. We need to know whether these distributors gave the provisions to all,” he said adding that migrants are the worst hit as they do not even get provisions at the fair price shops because they do not have a ration card.
“Just as our Goan brethren are stranded in different parts of the world, the migrants are stranded in Goa as they cannot go to their native place and hence need help and support,” he said while appealing to the government to at least give them the free provisions as announced by the union government.
