PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa will raise funds by washing cars on Thursday, the holi festival. AAP member Suhani Shah said a team of AAP volunteers in Mapusa, Ponda and Vasco will wash cars from 10am onwards.
She said this is a creative and innovative concept by the party to raise funds. “We will not demand huge funds from locals, whatever they give we will accept,” Shah said. She said the main motive of such a concept is to give dignity and respect to the labour class and pass the message of conserving water.
“We will wash the cars using the least required water. All volunteers will use water from buckets and will show how to wash cars with as little water as possible,” Shah said. This will be also send a message to save water as much as possible, she added.
AAP said last year on Holi, within six hours the party had raised Rs 15,000 in Panjim.
