MARGAO: Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has demanded stringent action against Chicalim Deputy Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav for undertaking illegal constructions on comunidade land.
He lamented that when he had raised the matter in the Assembly, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho had dismissed the charges as false.

“I call Kamla Prasad Yadav an outsider because, besides, being a voter in Chicalim, he is also a registered voter in Uttar Pradesh and the government prefers to shut its eyes to his illegalities,” Reginaldo said.
He pointed out that even the previous chief minister Manohar Parrikar had raised the matter in the Assembly particularly as Kamla Prasad Yadav had constructed houses in the funnel area of the airport, which fortunately the High Court has taken note of and directed the Indian Navy to take action against him.
He complimented Alexander Michael and Abhijit Prabhudessai for the Public Interest Litigation they filed following which the High Court had passed the order.
The MLA has demanded that the government initiate action to first identify all the encroachments done by Yadav on comunidade land.
He said that Yadav has carried out five illegal constructions, the details of which, he claims, he has already provided to the government.
He disclosed that 99 flats and 45 tin sheds have been constructed illegally by Yadav.
He further disclosed that the Chicalim panchayat had demolished one illegal structure of Yadav. However, after getting elected as a panchayat member of Chicalim, he constructed a permanent structure of ground plus one floor having 35 rooms.
Reginaldo demanded that Yadav be dismissed as deputy sarpanch of Chicalim panchayat for his illegalities.
The Curtorim MLA has also demanded action against Dinesh Nadar who, he alleged, is a close aide of Mauvin and also carries out illegal constructions.
“The BJP government is out to sell Goa and Goans and that is why no action is taken against these outsiders carrying out illegal activities while Goans are immediately punished for the slightest transgression,” Reginaldo lamented.
