PANJIM: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Wednesday stated that the Advisory Committee constituted to facilitate a decision on the Medium of Instruction (MoI), is not restricted to just this issue. He, however, made it clear that the committee’s recommendations on Medium of Instruction would be accepted and implemented by the government.
“We have not said that the advisory committee is set up only for the MoI issue. Our order in that matter does not say that it is exclusively for MoI,” Parsekar told media persons.
“The committee will be looking and giving suggestion about other aspects of educational development in the State” he added.
The Chief Minister said that though Goa stands on top in the field of education that does not stop the government from widening the scope.
“There is ample scope for further improvement and the committee will guide us on those aspects and provide suggestions to further improve our educational sector,” he stated.
Probed on whether the government will accept the recommendation of the committee on Medium of Instruction , Parsekar said “definitely yes”.
The government had constituted a 17-member advisory committee under the chairmanship of Director of Higher Education Bhaskar Nayak for wider consultation and facilitate a decision on the MoI issue.
