PANJIM: The Anjuna Police have registered an FIR against accused Ronny Raju and three unknown persons for allegedly robbing a Japanese tourist at Siolim of cash and valuables and are on the lookout for the accused.
Herald had highlighted how a Japanese tourist had taken to Twitter revealing that on December 28, 2022 some unknown accused impersonated police officers and restrained the complainant Tatsuki Teramoto and stole his credit cards, debit cards, an iPhone, Rs 30,000 (INR) and 1,50,000 (Yen).

Following the news report in the Herald and after receiving a complaint via email from the victim, the Anjuna Police registered a robbery case against the accused.
The accused reportedly used the credit cards and debit cards at various stores thereby duping the victim of Rs 9.43 lakh.
An FIR under Sections 419 and 392 read with 34 IPC has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
The incident came to light following an advisory by the Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai warning its citizens to be careful while visiting the Anjuna beach.
Herald highlighted the advisory after which the Japanese tourist Tatsuki Teramoto took to Twitter and revealed that he was robbed while holidaying in Goa.
