MARGAO: Colva Police last night arrested one Diganta Kalita (25) from Assam for sex trafficking and rescued a 29-year-old girl from Gujarat who was forced into the flesh trade.
Diganta who was residing at Pequeno Ward in Colva arrived with the girl on Wednesday evening at the Colva parking lot near the beach to hand over the girl to the customer who was a decoy.
Police swooped down on and nabbed him. The victim girl was sent to Apna Ghar, while Diganta was produced before the court on Thursday which remanded him police custody for four days.
