ANJUNA: Following an autopsy on the 33-year-old Russia national Ekafovina Michail Sivolobova, the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at Goa Medical College, Bambolim has certified that she died a natural death due to ‘Acute Myocardial Infarction’ (heart attack).
The Russian woman was on a visit to Goa with a group of foreigners and died of suspected drug overdose after partying at a club in Anjuna on Tuesday night. During her visit the Russian was staying at a hotel in Baga.
Herald is in possession of the post mortem report carried out on Thursday which revealed that the cause of death is due to ‘Acute Myocardial Infarction’ consequent to thrombotic- atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
Anjuna PI Chetan Patil had earlier informed that the husband of the deceased, Mikhail Sivolobova and others gave a history of she being “over drunk” on the day of the incident.
However, there was no mention of the presence of alcohol in the report and neither was there any indication of any tests conducted for presence of narcotic substances.
Police sources confirmed that the Russian visited a night club in Anjuna on Tuesday night and died of suspected drug overdose.
“Has any test been conducted to check for narcotics or even alcohol for that matter? However one cannot deny the fact that cocaine, amphetamine and ecstasy can have adverse effects on the cardiovascular system. In the past it is learnt that cocaine has been labelled as the perfect drug to cause heart attacks,” informed a source on the condition of anonymity.
