Baina residents rush to buy essentials

VASCO: With the nation in lockdown mode to contain the spread of COVID-19, but some residents from Baina flocked near the beach area to collect essential commodities not maintaining social distancing norm on Sunday.

In a shocking development, after a video went viral on social media platform that people in large numbers gathered near Baina Beach to collect the essential commodities, the Vasco Police rushed at the spot and the situation was brought under control.

When reached at the site, mob of over 60 to 70 people were seen in rush to buy the veggies and other goods. 

The few people who had stood in the queue were standing very close to each other without maintaining a social distance and many were not wearing the mask as a precautionary measure.

The people who were standing in the queue were later asked to maintain a safe distance.

The police also warned the locals to maintain the safety norms strictly while buying essential commodities.
