PANJIM: The Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral, Old Goa, will be closed for public from November 18 to 20, to facilitate preparations for the upcoming Exposition of the Sacred Relics of St Francis Xavier.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate, North Goa, tourists and members of the general public will not be allowed entry to these iconic sites during the specified period. This closure has been implemented to ensure the necessary preparations can be carried out efficiently.
The order states that the closure will remain in force until November 20, unless modified or rescinded earlier.
Preparations for the upcoming exposition of the Sacred Relics of St Francis Xavier are scheduled to commence from November 21 and must be undertaken urgently in and around the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral in Old Goa, the order stated.
