PONDA, FEB 13 (HC) — A 55-year-old labourer died after being bitten by bees at Dhullai in Dharbandoda on Friday afternoon. According to reports, the incident occurred when Maruti Jivappa Gonda, who was working in a farmhouse, was proceeding to switch on the water pump. As a safety measure, Gonda ran to his hut where he covered himself with the plastic. Other labourers alerted Ponda police. PSI L Amonkar rushed to the site and Maruti was referred to the ID Hospital in Ponda, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
