Betalbatim against tiatr censorship

MARGAO: The Betalbatim gram sabha on Sunday opposed the government’s move to bring tiatr under the censor board.

At the gram sabha meeting held on Sunday, members supported a resolution opposing the government move to censor the tiatr. The meeting also raised objections to any move to bar religious leaders from giving the Sacrament of Communion to the patients in government-run hospitals and primary health centres.
The meeting also opposed the Goa government’s plan of going ahead with the second airport at Mopa, demanding that the government retain Dabolim as the State’s lone international airport.
The issue over the collection of waste from the roadside also figured at the gram sabha meeting when members demanded to know the mechanism put in place by the Panchayat to clear the waste.
The meeting also deliberated on the question of a structure outside a hotel and the members were told that the Panchayat has fixed inspection of the structure later this week.
