The Sunday gram sabha chaired by Sarpanch Lavita Dias, expressed concern over the proposal in the RP that village internal roads should be 10 meters in width. Dias informed that the gram sabha has resolved that the width of the village internal roads should not be more than six meters.
The gram sabha also discussed the proposal on the construction of a bundh abutting river Sal. Sarpanch Dias informed that the Panchayat has received the NOC from the Comunidade body, even as she reminded that the Panchayat had taken up the proposal with the Rural Development Agency and also with South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar.
She said that the Panchayat would now pursue the matter with the MP and the RDA.
Benaulim MLA Caitu Silva, who attended the meeting, assured the villagers that the work of hot mixing of the main road will be taken up after the monsoon. The main road was dug for laying of the underground water pipeline and power cabling.
