MARGAO: State’s new Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Trimbak Ajgaonkar said BJP is the first party, which has made Dalit leader the Deputy Chief Minister and vowed never to leave the saffron party.
Ajgaonkar, who is also the state’s Tourism and Sports Minister, was with Adv Narendra Sawaikar when the latter filed his candidature for the South Goa Lok Sabha poll.
Speaking to media persons Ajgaonkar said, “I was in Congress, then BJP, then I contested as MGP and now BJP. But now I have decided I will stay with the BJP forever”.
“I have seen the working of several parties. But the developmental works that the former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar carried out in the state will be our thrust when we will go to people for votes. We will ask for votes for Manohar Parrikar and Narendra Modi,” he said.
Levelling allegations against the Dhavalikar brothers, Ajgaonkar said, “The MGP was of Bahujans in the past. Now, it is the owned by the Dhavalikar brothers. The party in the past propagated good ideas but now they have sacked Lavoo Mamledar for expressing his opinion.”
“We were never taken into confidence by the party and by the Dhavalikars ever since the government was formed. Hence, we have not breached any trust,” Babu claimed.
He said they would go to the people asking for votes in the name of Manohar Parrikar who with his vision and schemes made sure that nobody in the State lives or sleeps hungry.
