Foreigners held for overstaying

CALANGUTE: Calangute Police arrested four foreign nationals in separate cases for overstaying in the country without a valid travel document in Candolim on Wednesday.
The Calangute police led by PI Nolasco Raposo apprehended four lady foreigners in their late 20s namely Lesley Asimwe Metembe, Uganda national; Bakari Omari Amana, Ghana national; Salome Wamaith, Kenyan national and Nakirijja Alice, Uganda national at Candolim.  They were found to be overstaying without valid travel documents including a valid visa. They were booked for offence under Section 3(2)(a) and 6(a) of Passport Entry into India Rules, section 6(a) of Passport Act, Section 7(3)(iii) of Foreigners Order Act 1946 Read With Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1948.
The JMFC Mapusa remanded them to 14 days judicial custody.   Calangute PI was assisted by PSI Laxi Amonkar, PSI Jatin Poddar, PSI Damodar Shirodkar and LPSI Deepa Deikar.
Further investigation is in progress.
