Congress party’s claim that 200 women party workers of the BJP have joined the ruling party is the biggest joke of the day, asserted Fatorda BJP Mahila Morcha President, Priya Kamat.
Kamat further stated that it is long nurtured habit of the Congress Party and of the party General Secretary Vijay Sardessai in particular to make such jokes, when the elections are round the corner. “We have experienced this kind of rumors spread in the last elections when congress party claimed the BJP workers have joined the party in large numbers, but it turned out a  political gimmick”, she said.
Kamat said that Shubhada Naik, who has joined the Congress on Sunday, was earlier hobnobbing with the Congress party simply because she was not projected as BJP party candidate in the recently held municipal polls. She has now switched over to the Congress for her vested interest”, she said, adding that Shubhada had earlier contested the 2005 Municipal polls against BJP candidate and lost. “Shubhada was not fielded a party candidate in the 2010 polls because her ward was reserved for ST category”, she said, adding that only Shubhada has switched over to the Congress while the party base remains intact.
The BJP Mahila Morcha President further said that at a time when people are irked over the wrong policies of the Congress government, their corruption, collapse of law and order, deficient administration, increase in the murder, rape and drug cases, the congress party’s endeavor to deviate the attention of the common man indulging into such activities, will not at all help it in the elections.
Kamat said that Shubhada should have made known the names of all the remaining 199 Mahila workers to the general public for authenticity of their affiliation.
