BJP Releases West Bengal Sankalp Patra With UCC, Women’s Aid and Farmer Promises

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’, for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, promising major welfare measures and governance reforms if the party comes to power in the state.

Describing the manifesto as a roadmap for building “Sonar Bangla,” Shah said the BJP’s promises were designed to benefit women, youth, farmers and government employees while bringing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare model to the state.

Among the key announcements, Shah said a BJP government would implement the Uniform Civil Code in West Bengal within six months of taking office, ensuring “one law for every citizen.” He also promised to introduce the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days and ensure dearness allowance for all eligible government employees.

Focusing on women’s empowerment, the BJP pledged monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 for women, 33 percent reservation for women in the police force and all government jobs, and the establishment of at least one women’s police station in every mandal. The party also set a target of creating 75 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” across the state.

For youth, Shah announced a monthly allowance of ₹3,000 for recent graduates along with one-time financial support of ₹15,000 to help them prepare for competitive examinations.

The manifesto also included major promises for farmers, including an additional ₹3,000 annually under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, taking total support to ₹9,000 per year. The BJP further pledged to procure 100 percent of paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal and introduce schemes to ensure fair prices for paddy, potato and mango growers.
