Addressing the media, PCF President Prakash Bandodkar said, “The Saligao BJP Mahila Mandal is visiting homes and is threatening the women to sign on two forms which they say they will verify on the day of rally as who has attended or not. They have also been threatening the women to cancel their Griha Aadhar Scheme if they fail to attend the rally but have said that if they attend the rally their Griha Aadhar money will be hiked from current Rs 1200 to Rs 1500.”
He added, “We want to know and ask the Chief Minister whether the money used in the scheme comes from their own pockets which they can stop? We demand an answer from the CM within two days before the rally.”
He alleged that Minister Dilip Parulekar, who is the Saligao MLA, has been using his ministerial powers along with the BJP Mahila Mandal to threaten the women. “If they continue this, our forum will not allow the Parulekar to come and also stop him from entering our Pilerne village,” he warned.
We have decided to submit a letter to the Election Commission requesting them to conduct a strict inquiry,” Bandodkar said.
