MARGAO: The Coastal Police on Thursday intercepted and impounded a boat and a trawler for fishing despite a ban on the activity.

Two other boats have been issued show cause notice by the Fisheries Department for discrepancies in the licence numbers.
The coastal police also seized 145 crates of fish, two LED lights and a generator from the impounded boat and trawler.
Meanwhile, the Fisheries Department has issued show-cause notices to owners of two other vessels used for fishing after they found discrepancies in the licence and registration numbers.
It was observed that both the boats have the same licence registration numbers
